Four intrepid hikers showed up for the second in a series of group hikes scheduled by the YLP Trails and Recreation Committee.
Walking the east half of the Stagecoach Trail last Saturday were: Larry Mackey, Bob Moore, Becky Hoag and William Miller.
The welcome rain from Wednesday and Thanksgiving Day had softened the ground quite a bit, and erosion was evident, but the beauty was in the view of the hills and trees often obscured by the season’s first thick, cool fog.
The rain held off and the group made the round trip from the trail center at the end of Long Hollow Court North to Acorn Court and back.
All are welcome — YLP residents or not — to join the next two scheduled hikes on the Revis Mountain Trail. Here are the details:
9-11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8
Revis Mountain Trail (starts at Blue Heron Way to Fire Road)
9-11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15
Revis Mountain Trail (starts at Fire Road off Revis Lane East to North Dome)
For Revis Mountain Trail, hikers are urged to carpool (if possible) as there are a limited number of spaces near the cul de sacs on Blue Heron Way and Revis Lake East, where the hikes will begin.
All hikers are to be reminded to bring plenty of water to stay hydrated and any snacks for nourishment. Hikers will need to carry in and take out all items they bring.
